Default Great school Feb 7-8 at scenic Buttonwillow trak-skid-class $275

Im new to AW with my TT and I thot I would post this....VARA (Vintage Auto Racing Association) is having the annual University of VARA school at Buttonwillow Raceway Park Sat and Sunday Feb 7 and 8. Cost for the 2 day school is only $275. Your car or rentals from Fast Lane Driving School (Danny McKeever) are availaible. (LBGP Toyotas). Classroom sessions, skid pad, threshold braking and lots of track time.

North on I5 off at Lerdo Hiway 9 miles north of Buttonwillow. Motels availiable at Buttonwillow offramp (45 minutes north of the grapevine). Free camping availiable and hookups also at the track. More information at vararacing.com

Default I didn't know if there was some sort of limitation on age (i.e. nothing newer than 19xx)

or whatnot. I think for 2 days of instruction @ buttonwillow, that's a fairly good deal.

Default Re: I didn't know if there was some sort of limitation on age (i.e. nothing newer than 19xx)

Our once a year school is just that ...a school. And it is cheap.

For the school only we allow you to use your car for the "moving" portion of the school. If you want to rent a ride intead of using your 4 door Yugo, you can do so also.

You need a SA or M rated snell helmet 2000 or newer, long shirt or jacket and gloves. There are other requrements for no top cars thats why I put the website adress. Its all there under UofV on the website.

There are 4 groups according to your skills/experience. Yes some are slow. Everyone is not Shuey right out of the box.

As to our regular program of 7 races for 2009 I would think that an Atlantic car or and RT4 or a Can-Am car woulud not be that slow.
