I went with 35% ceramic all around: I don't want too much attention from the PoPo. I got it done at Sunshield on Van Nuys for $165 out the door. I was in and out in under 2 hours, and no problems so far.

attention from cops on the road at 35% since you didn't tint the front.
At $165 cost, that's a good price for a ceramic tint. And good choice on Madico brand.
Update us how the performance of the tint goes.

I'd scrape the bejeezus out of the whole thing. The huge bump I have to traverse to get into my crappy garage scraped my 2 previous cars, and I'm not about to let that happen to the A3. There are too many messed up driveways and bumpstops at the places I drive to to even think about it.

have a ceramic line, which I believe is the Charcool (not Charcoal) series - their website acknowledges that this specific line doesn't disrupt communication devices. They also have the Onyx line which is more into the blacks, but I don't know if this is ceramic.
I'm sure the guys at Sunshield will help you out and explain to you all their tints and the corresponding pros and cons to enable you choose the correct tint for your style and needs. I would be skeptical to patronize a shop and product if the installer doesn't walk me thru the products first.
Good luck over the weekend and post pics of the results.

Both LLumar and Madico (which sunshield sells) have said warranty. But, like Leonpro said, Madico claims Charcool won't interfere with electronics. I don't know for sure what it's made out of, and one of the guys in the A3 forum says it's a "hybrid" film, whatever that means...
But Sunshield seemed to me like a pretty good shop. You can watch them tint your car from the waiting room, and they have 3-4 guys working on each car at one time, so they should be able to get you out of there pretty quickly. Being able to see them work on my car made me feel a lot better about everything.
Once you get the tint on, wait at least one day, maybe two, before you start worrying about bubbles, lines, milky colors under your tint. That should all cook out when you park it in the sun. If you still see stuff after 2 days, take it back and get it fixed.
good luck!

dyed materials AND reflective materials. Then they did hybrid tints of reflective material and metallic particles. The latest hybrid tints I believe from Madico is a mix of a layer of ceramic and reflective tint (not to be confused with metallic tint or dyed tint).
Huper Optik holds a patent for multiple ceramic layers in the tint. They said it's 100% ceramic layers within the film and, therefore, not a hybrid of any other tint technology above. That's the reason for the price and probably also the reason why they can command a higher price.
