Default At Streets of Willow this weekend...

A beautiful 2 days at the track Temps between 55* and 72*. Being at the track only reminds me how much body roll and understeer my car really has.

AND ON TO WHAT I"M REALLY POSTING FOR...

a brand new Corvette C6 went into the "S" way too hot... went off track and hit a small (1.5 ft) rise with a small ditch infront of it. The front end Dug into the Rise and at 80 plus mph goes end over end and then lands on driver side. The gentleman walked away from. I'm glad to see he walked away uninjured.

Default damn...

you're talking about the chikane right after the back straightaway when running clockwise, right?

there has been a HUGE pothole on the right side of the track located *right* at the apex. last month i put a wheel into it and figured i had torn the front suspension to bits.

damndamndamn

glad to see this guy is ok. this has been a really rough year it seems for DE events. what club was running the event?

Default yes, kind of...

he went off Before the 2nd curb of the "chikane" which is after the Bowl.

There's that lazy right just before the chikane. He put the car sideways on the lazy right and I guess he decided it would be better to straighten out and go off track than to try to recover.

He is an experience driver, but this was all Driver error. 1st lap on a course he'd never driven before.

Speed Trials USA ran the event. they are running again Dec 3&4. I'll more than likely be there for the 3rd... then Motor4Toys (the Toys for Tots event) on the 4th.

Default it wasn't the pot hole... he went off before that. But they need to fix it anyway.

Default they won't fix it

bring a shovel next time. Willow is notorious for the deep potholes.

Default hmmm... how did he go off there?

the area of the track next to "ended up here" is where most people seem to go off, after trying to re-apply power too soon / too abruptly after the preceeding turn. in fact, last month i had one helluva tank-slapper there and i was 99% sure i was going to end up in the weeds - but i managed to save it somehow.
