Anyone here ever buy a car out of state, private sale? What did you do for a temp tag?

So I scored a dealer temp tag. Not the metal dealer tag, but just a plastic tag
with a dealer logo and a place to write the date 30 days from the sale date. It's what they put on the car when you drive off the lot after a sale.
But at least it looks semi-official.
I was reminded that our old neighbor now works for a dealership (not one of the Audi folks).
