Car for sale - 89, 200 Turbo Avant for $4000
A buddy of mine who lives in Saluda, NC has a pretty rare Audi he wants to move. I told him I'd post it here for him.
It's a 89 200 Turbo Avant. It's got 155K on it. He's the 2nd owner, it's got all records and been dealer maintained since new. He said it's got no problems other than the rear windows don't work and something is wrong w/ the turn signals but that's it. Body is perfect. He is a automotive paint rep for BASF. He has painted it but believe me he does perfect work. Still factory color. I don't know the name of the color but it's that blue/green. He's going to email me all the information and some pictures sometime in the next couple of days, when he does I'll forward it here. He's asking $4000 for it. If you want to call him, his cell is 864-915-9186 Danny Richardson.

That's about what nice '91 200 Avants go for. I think he'll have trouble getting that for an '89.
Might want to give Lance Russell a call or a heads-up. He's always looking for nice Type 44's, or might know someone who would be interested, and he's in NC.

On a sidenote, I sure enjoyed seeing your car at QDM. Very much like what you've done to it.
Cheers,
Patrick

Re: Thanks, I'll pass it along to Danny
and I'll get Lance's info on to DAnny as well.
Thanks for the complements on my car as well. Putting a X-pipe on it today and H&R suspension coming soon so will be a little lower and stiffer.

Re: I talked to him and here is a little more info
He said it is not a 20VT, he didn't think those came out till 91. He said his is a late 89 that does have the airbag. He said his also has the Sport Seats which he thinks is rare. He's not stuck on the $4000 price, just a starting price, but feels it's fare because the car is perfect paint and body and no mechanical issues at all. He said the interior is in excellent shape as well, no visible wear. He said the headliner will need to be replaced though.

hmm...might be a good asking price, but I expect it would sell for less.
My 89 pearl sedan had sport seats, airbag (pretty sure all 89s did), 5-speed, quattro and a new headliner and I traded it in for $4000 in 2002. That was after I fixed the window regulators and cold start problem.
The paint, wheels (color matched BBS wheels) and leather were nearly perfect, too.
