How to pass GA emissions w/ a CEL code?

I have a CEL code for my TC and brakes (just verified w/ dealer and Eurotech in Marietta). The emissions folks say no-go w/ any CEL...
When I went straight from the shop after they cleared all my CEL, the emissions computer said my car was "not ready" and I had to drive around for 100mi...which of course set off the CEL.
How do I get around this short of major transmission work (I'm trying to put that off!)?
Thanks

It can reset much quicker than 100 miles however. But you'll need to carry VAG around to check readiness and get to the emissions place at just the right moment, unless you determine that Readiness comes at exactly the same time as your CEL.

just that when the fault sets it trips the CEL. After readiness is set it stays all zero until fault memory is erased, even with a CEL.

I just looked up the VAG blocks and found block 100 is for readiness. Maybe next time I've got VAG plugged in I'll mess with it to see if I can force Readiness blocks OK after a Clear all Codes command.

using a scan tool, you can make it happen faster if everything is OK, but if there's a problem, it will still prevent readiness from happening.
in other words, there's no way to "cheat."
(edit) I do agree with Aaron's point though, the readiness tests aren't looking for the actual issue he has, so it could work, i suppose
