i'm trying to understand the technicalities of turbo's by reading up and learning as much as i can before i upgrade to a better turbo on my car. Can someone explian to me how to read a compressor map?! i can't understand it for the life of me. where do i see at what rpm the turbo will boost at? At what psi it feels best at? when i should shift to get the most of the power in the turbo?

A pretty standard centrifugal device performance curve. Pump curves look very similar, as do those for HVAC fans.

Click me.

i think i jumped into the turbo world too fast. I read this great article about turbo matching to your system to increase volumetric efficiency and crazy math formula's about intercooler efficiency by measureing temp with a thermocouple. things that starting getting over my head. but i've got some of it down and started understanding it. I'm trying to build as thourogh a system as possible in my car. thanks again.
