Curvy Roads in Phoenix Area?

How far do you want to drive?
Tortilla Flat - AWESOME twisties (go early or during week to avoid boat traffic). East on 60 to Idaho Rd, north to turnoff for Apache Trail ... drive to Tortilla Flat.
Bartlett Lake - nice sections of quick-drivable twisties (same advice about boat traffic). North on Pima Road to almost into Carefree, east past Desert Mountain turn onto Bartlett Lake Road, or continue towards Seven Springs for a few twisties there, too.
Further out:
Drive from Wickenburg up to Prescott. First is Yarnell Hill, a long, twisty, drive up (beware of cops nowadays) where you can hit 70 through sweepers up teh mountainside), and then a set of tight mountain/forest twisties into Prescott.
If you want to continue, from Prescott go to Jerome (signs to Cottonwood/Sedona), the descent into Jerome is some of the best twisties in the state.
Alternatively, before Prescott you can turn west to a little town called Bagdad. The section (11 miles or so) of road from Bagdad back to the highway from Wickenburg is really crazy - blind corners on crests - do not go too fast on this road if you've never driven it before, you will not know which way to turn on several crests.
Lastly, if you're up for more than a few hours drive - go east from Phoenix, through Globe and on and on and on ... to Clifton, near the NM border. Turn north and head up to Alpine - the drive is pure unadulterated fun all the way to Alpine.

I've done the drives to canyon and bartlett, but the boat traffic is terrible. My last run to canyon, I probably had 1.5 miles of open road. Then stuck.
The stuff from Wickenburg to Jerome sounds interesting. I'll definitely go hit that soon. Ever any organized drives out that way?

Cops salivate for the desert mountain set, and people coming back from a day of boating and beers.
Also check out the papago park drive near the south scottsdale audi dealer.

I was just at Bartlett this morning - not a copper in sight. On the other hand, one of the Sheriff's deputies was nice enough to *not* pull me over there about 2-3 months ago when he KNEW he had me going 100+ ... since he fvcking caught up to me as I eased off ... I was down to 52 in a 50 when he caught up, but he HAD to have been going 90+ just to catch up initially.
Anyway, yes, best not to SPEED at all, unless you are WILLING to accept any consequences, detector or not.
