Default West Texas DPS ( I-10) do they have a "thing" for no front plate??

I have been to N Mexico three times this year. I was stopped twice on the return trips (outbound was at Night) by the DPS for "no front plate". Now I see Herds of Pick Ups out there with no front plate, but he has to stop my Imola (maybe there's the problem) Audi for no stinking front plate!!!! I must say, I only got warnings, but it is a scare. So far, 3 stops in five years...Three warnings! Will my luck hold>>

Default I have only had 1 warning the plate thing. Most citycops I know say they have better things to do..

But it was DPS that gave me the warning. I would keep the plate in the trunk and say that it had fallen off and you have ordered the bracket from the dealer.

Default Not having one (1) gives them a reason to pull you over to look around and (2)...

...gives them a ticket they can write you even if they didn't catch you doing something against the law (like speeding). When traveling outside the city, I always put my plate up on my dash against the windshield.

Default Never had any problems with the 5-0 and Front plates...

But in my case all the cops see is a flash of yellow and theres no chance they saw no front plate...all kidding aside, no problems here...Ive gotten a speeding ticket and he didnt mention the missing front tag...I thought u didnt have to have one...huh, just dont stop if they try to pull you over, then u dont have to worry

Default "Plate on my dash"?? Is that good enough for a "front Plate"??

I always wonder..besides being kind of Trailer trash looking... without one wearing a "wife beater" T **** and all.... Is that good enough to just lay your plate up there?

Default Possibly. The statute reads more or less "displayed on the front of the vehicle"

While in the windshield is not the absolute front of the vehicle, it is the front half of the vehicle and it is visible from the front of the vehicle. I only put up when out on the highway. In the city, cops have better things to do.
