Default Window Tinting?

Anyone know a good place in Dallas? I live in Plano to be exact.

Thanks.

Pro Tint
Owner Claudio <-speak to him for pricing. Mention NTAG (North Texas Audi Group).
17423 Preston Road
972 713-6861

If you want tint to cut the heat (rather than show), get the Huper Optic tint.

NTAG

Default Hijack: Moving to Dallas in August. What is the legal

limit of tint for a car? I want to get the rear hatch glass in the TT as dark as possible. Not that I am going to do it, but is it legal to tint the windshield?

Thanks, Chris.

I'm not sure if the Audi glass has any tint built in but the total light transmission includes both the OEM and the aftermarket tint.

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/Misc/faq/tint.htm#state_laws</a

Default Thanks for the link. It looks like I can paint the hatch glass black if

I wanted. I know that the side windows have a tint in them, but I'm not sure the value.

All the windows are slightly tinted, like 9% or something. You may want to factor that in.

Default Another consideration

While I don't want to make a broad statement about all police and all jurisdictions, a heavily tinted car might influence how a police officer treats you during a stop. If you go with a heavy tint, it's a good idea to lower ALL of your windows during a traffic stop. This will help place the officer at ease.

Default Good advice and definitely something to consider, but I'm

primarily interested in just tinting the rear hatch. The size and angle of the glass creates a magnifying glass effect. Combined with a small cabin sheathed in black leather the interior is essentially a heat sink. Plus my daughter rides back there once in a while. I can only imagine what it will be like with 100+ temps. I was thinking of a 20% back there. If I do tint the side windows I probably won't go lower than 50%. I'm really not down with the tint look, but neccessity may override.

Thanks for the advice Jim.
