My generic cell phone adapter to the TT works!
If you have followed my previous posts, you know I have been working on this.
Today, I got the 'PMD' adapter from Autotoys (PIE Electronics).
This completed the 3rd phase of this install.
I modified a "Generic" hands free cell phone amplifier to work with the TT radio.
I connected the DB-25 connector to re-route the proper signals to the RJ-45 jack near the cupholder. (phase 1)
I used a cable, mated to this 'generic' amp kit, wired the signals to the appropriate 8 conductors of this cable, so that the output of the amp goes to the TT speaker. (phase 2)
I then added the PMD circuit, that senses the 'ring' (actually, the current change when the phone rings).
A wire from this device gets connected to the RJ-45 cable that is the 'mute' signal.(phase 3)
Also, there is a cable that comes from my "box" that powers the phone, so you don't need the cig. adapter cable. (bonus)
When an in-coming call comes into the cell phone, the ringer sound plays through the speaker, and the radio automatically mutes. You then answer the phone, speaking normally, and your caller comes through the TT left front speaker. (you can change this to the right front through GALA)
When you call ends, and you 'hang up' the phone, the radio comes back on.
This is all working in proto mode, and I expect it will be a day or so to pretty this all up, but it works!
I will post pictures and a more complete scenario here, to the cell phone page, and on my web site, for reference later.
Who-hoo!
BTW- it's 30 degrees in my garage

When you say "generic" do you mean that it has adapters on the phone end for any phone?
I'll pay double for the next prototype that works with my 8260!
Good work, Jeff.

I modified it heavily. I removed it from the case, connected the speaker output to the input side of the TT wiring in the RJ-45 jack.
I use the mic input from the cell phone itself.
It's a bit "Mickey Mouse" because you need to strap a 'mike' onto the speaker output of the cell phone, that feeds into the amplifier.
That's whay it's "generic". It doesn't use the pin-outs along the bottom of the cell phone. It's too difficult to find the exact connector, then the pin-outs of the all the different cell phone combos to get the right combination to work.
I will post some pics later and you will understand<ul><li><a href="http://www.nationalwebproducts.com/details.asp?ID=HFCS">Generic Hands Free Cell phone amplifier</a></li></ul>

to the amplifier. This then feeds into the TT radio wiring, via the RJ-45 jack.
You use the mike in the cell phone for your side of the conversation.
The caller is amplified, and comes out the TT speaker.
