is this keyed to an absolute mileage or a delta mileage? mine just came on around 33K miles... is that probably for the 30K service, or is there really a 33K interval? Offhand I can't remember the mileage from the last service...

Thee is no 33K service...your technician just forgot to reset it properly.

I was just in 6 months ago for the 30K service. Is there anything important that makes that "Service!" light come on? I was under the impression that it was for maintenance intervals, not fault codes.

You said "your technician just forgot to reset it properly" -- do they put in the mileage for the next "Service!" indication?

I suppose an oil change wouldn't hurt at 33K, but I don't need to go thru un-warrantied dealer hell for that.
