Default 1.8L TT Springs on 3.2L TT

We all know the 3.2L TT sits too high. The wheel well gap on the front looks like a Mustang. The back is high too, but not as bad.

Well, I was wondering what the outcome would be with 1.8L TT front springs on a 3.2L TT? (if even possible)

I have heard the 3.2L sits higher than the 1.8L version. I have also heard, and would expect, the 3.2L motor weighs more. Combining these two facts, I was thinking the lower ride heigh and the heavier front end would lower the TT 3.2L to a respectable height. Right now it just sits way too high for my tastes.

Default The best idea would be to get new shock and springs or even coilovers

Eric at SPP has set of FK Konigsport Coilovers designed justy for the 3.2 TT and the weight.

Default You might want to consider a skid plate.

I know this sounds like a smartass answer but I have heard you cannot lower the 3.2 without consider some damage underneath.

I have looked into this as well. I know that oil pans are made with thicker baffles or weleded protection for the "slammed" street trucks. Jeep guys, myself being one, started to use these pans as they offer better protection when off-road.

As far as the oil pan, I wouldn't be too concerned because there are certainly lower cars driving the streets right now.

However, I would seriously consider the performance aspects. Unless you have a properly calibrated suspension set-up, the handling will be askew. I'm sure that a stiffer from set-up would counter the weight, but I'm also sure that the handling would suffer.

I wish AMD, PES, H & R or someone would address the issue. I had heard that PES was working on something...

Default 1.8L TT Springs on 3.2L TT, huh?

... That would fit in the category of Really Dumb Idea from both vehicle dynamics and ground clearance standpoints.

Default So what would you suggest for lowering the car? How low can one go?

Did I not hear correctly that the R32 came delivered lower?
