Default 15,000 Mile Service: Yes or No

Should I have an oil change, etc done at 15k even though it isn't part of the plan?

Yes.. I do plan on keeping this car for quite some time (unless 2003+ is a nice engine improvement and I can get out of my lease)

Default Yup, change oil every 5K miles. No service required other than oil change. Use synthetic oil if you

can. It'll reduce the wear and tear on all the engine internals.

Default It depends on you...

I'm perhaps naive in thinking that Audi wouldn't change the intervals to 10K if they didn't have firm engineering data backing that up rather than to save $30 every other oil change.

That having been said, however, I just can't handle 10K in a turbocharged car and will be paying for every other LOF myself...

Oil change @ 5K ,10K then 20K, 30K etc. no 15K oil change anymore.

Default I think I will too. How much should the dealership charge for that?

At the 5k intervals, should it just be oil and filter?

Default I'll feel sorry for your engine and your turbo if you change oil every 10k....

Oil is cheap. Engine parts and turbo aren't. Turbocharged cars abuse the engine oil more than normally aspirated cars do so you should really change the oil before it has a chance to break down or loose its characteristics and damages the engine.

Default If they want to charge more than $25 to $30 take it elsewhere or you can do it on your own. You can

get a Fram oil filter from pepboys for about $6.
