18x7.5 - 40 offset will it fit properly?- don't want to run spacers

is there a limit of the offset before i hit the suspension.. like could i fit 18x7.5 42offset ?

I had 19x7.5 ET40 before, and they fit (cleared the brakes), but sit very inside the wheel well. I have some pics at home if you want them.

18x7.5 with a 40 offset would likely be no worse than a 18x8.5 with a 35 offset; but it's not an absolute thing. Best to just try fitting them if you can and seeing what the clearance is -- I can feel the strain on my brain already (and I taught Honors Geometry!).

If I chose a 19x8.5 with a .35 offset front and a
19x9.5 .40 offset rear, is that going to work? I think some cars are setup this way. I don't want to rub as I am 1.75 lowered front and back.
Any thoughts?
