Default Quality materials vs. build quality ?

The TT no doubt has quality materials. But I dont agree with build quality. I might have a different interpretation of 'build quality' but I hate to compare it to a same year Lexus we previously owned. The Lexus did not seem to have the best materials but it was so well put together that even at almost 6 years and 130k miles, not one rattle, creak, or anything falling apart. Again, hate to compare to Lexus. Also, most car's suspension will last well past 60k. For the TT seems like by 60K the whole suspension probably needs replacing.

Oh...you'll need to replace suspension well before 60K. Mine went in <10K.

Default yes, but chipping a 225 versus a 180 makes a big difference, unless you want to

spend more money and go stage III. the quattro itself is a nice feature as well.

Default Check out my Fotki site. Many mods there...>>

I've had my 180CQ for 6 years and won't give it up without a fight...:-)

For a little (well more than a little) money, you can make the car a contender.

If you really need the ponies, APR has the ticket. Stage III+.

I have 80K on the odometer with not many problems.

Hope this helps.

Default if you wanted no maintenance, the Lexus will beat BMW and Audi, hands down.

in fact most people that i know that have a Lexus, have not had any problems whatsoever.

How much weight exactly does Quattro add to the TT?

Default No joke. Actually, car was still ok but mod bug bit me! >>>

Our shocks are useless.....most would agree. I went to H&R (so-so at best) and now ride on KW Variant3.....sweet!
Car didn't come out of the factory equipped for performance. A shame. Most who drive TT's in my area are the "dear ladies of Upper Montclair". They don't drive 'em any differently from the mini van waiting at home.....so they'd never know the shortcomings.
Again....if you like the car and want more (handling, balance, go, etc) it's all out there
