20,000 mile service today and I'm happy to report that's all they are doing.

I've had almost 2 years and 20,000 smiles of happiness with oTTo. He's had a few minor issues like, DV, heater buttons that wouldn't push in and the lock/light bug which was never fixed but isn't a big issue, but no major problems.
My loaner car is 2000 Silver 180 coupe (bit of a slug after my 225). There seems to be a problem though....I can't seem to get it into 6th gear and roof won't open ;-)

I had it fixed a few months ago. The dealer replaced some central control module. If you want, I can locate the work-order from the visit that lists the part number of the module that they replaced.
I agree that it is a problem that you can live with, but I would get it fixed before the end of warranty in two more years.

I found the work-order. It reads "Diagnose & replaced central locking control unit/pump, recode control unit and keys."
And the part number of the unit they replaced was 8N7-962-267-A
On my November visit I showed them how to reproduce the bug. The surest way to reproduce it is to get in, first lock the doors, then start the engine, and notice that lights are not operating normally. Given that I could show them the problem, they ordered the part and on my followup visit they swapped it out. Other than the bug being gone, the car is just the same. I worried a bit that with the change of the module that I would lose some functionality like the interior motion sensor, but it all works just like before.
Good Luck!
