Default 2000vs. 2001

I'm about to buy my first Audi. What would be a better purchase, both cars are $28,000 1)2001 TT quattro 180hp w/20k, or 2)2000 TT quatto 225hp w/23k. I appreciate any response as it will strongly help in my decision regarding which car to purchase.

They never made a 225 in 2000 at least in the US.

Default The 2001 180Q because....

If you really plan on modding it, when it comes to bigger, better turbos, the price is cheaper ($3,500 cheaper) and the horsepower will have only a difference of 45 hp. If you don't plan on modding that much, you will get a much better longer warranty on the car. My $.02

Default What Jeff Said (225Q)

I didn't think they made a 225 until 2001, unless you're looking at a 2001 model year delivered late in 2000. If that's the case and the price is the same, and they're both coupes, get the 225. The difference in miles is negligible, as is the difference in age, and the 225 is a more powerful engine engine that is also better suited for chipping and other mods (more robust parts) if you decide to go that way.

The only advantage to the 2001 180Q may be the warranty - if your getting it through a dealer you may be able to pick up the last bit of the original warranty, which is nice; but I'd still go with the 2000 225Q.

Or you could check with Lunkhead on those 305Z's...

I think it's so cool.
