2001 roadster Convertible switch and vagcom/VCDS

I ordered a new key fob recently and programmed it with vagcom(VCDS). During the process I followed the guide
[35 - Central Locking]
[Adaptation - 10]
Channel 00
This section resets the settings in the Comfort Control Module.
None of my interior controls (door locks, interior lights convertible top switch) worked after the reset. After some time "coding" the CCM I got everything to function along with the new fob, but the convertible top switch still does not work, it's the only button I have not been able to fix.
Right before I did the work in vagcom I had put the top up with the switch. Right after it stopped working. This is why I feel that the problem is with the CCM coding, but I havn't ruled out the possibility of a bad CCM that bit the dust during the process.
I've looked around for the last 2 weeks trying to find some answers but I have been unable to turn up any good leads on coding the CCM for the convertible switch to work.
Does anyone have any insight?
Thanks in advance

Silly question, but have you tried just fiddling with it? I've experienced a number of times in the past few weeks where the top just refused to go up/down and it was generally accompanied by a flashing "top" light in the cluster. I've just turned the key off, back on, made sure the e-brake was on, etc and eventually it would always cooperate with me. Have you gone into measuring blocks to see what the CCM perceives the state of each microswitch and the main switch to be? It might think a microswitch is open when it's actually closed, etc.
