2002 Audi TT 225hp: Creaking noise heard when going over bumps...What is it?
I hear a strange creaking noise coming from the front of my TT when going over dips, speed bumps, etc. What is it?
My car has only 19,000 miles on it!!

i had the same problem. after 3 trips to the dealership, they finally figured out that it was the sub-frame bushings. they must have spent 10+ days trying to diagnose the problem.

had same problem on 2000 225TTQR - just had it fixed
the problem would not be very noticeable when the car was cold, but more than a couple of minutes into the ride the squeak intensified. this noise only showed up when going over a speed bump or anytime the wheels had reason to travel. the sound was similar to the token squeaky door in classic horror movies. i don't know if this is related, but i do live in a dusty and hot climate.
my problem was front sway bar / stabilizer bar bushings. dealer said they have a lot of problems with them and that newer cars have a modified part that addresses this problem. they replaced the bushings and the car sounds sweet again.

Re: when I had the H&r,sinstalled they would make a creaking sound which has since gone away....
I Have the same problem on my 180 right now. I took it to the dealer and they told me that it was the front sway bar. He quoted me almost 7 bills to fix it. I told him no thanks! I am looking to buy the intrax sway bars... any suggestions?
