Default 2005 3.2L TT coupe vs. 2005.5 3.2L A4 (safety)

My wife wants a new TT (coupe) but we may opt for an A4 because of safety reasons. She drives 70 miles (round trip) every day on single lane country roads to/from work. We hear of accidents on this road at least once/year because of people crossing the double yellow lines. I know the TT has good side impact ratings but can not find any other crash ratings. The A4 only has about 50lbs on the TT but the TT is so much shorter. I worry about all the big SUV's on the road. Do you feel safe in your TT? Any crash ratings I missed?

Send an email to Audi and ask them. I'm surprised that NHTSA doesn't list it.

Default If you are worried about big SUVs...

neither car is a good option due to bumper mismatch between cars and SUVs. SUVs tend to run over the front end of most cars in a front side angular impact (crossing the center line).

Default There have been some really nasty accidents posted here...

where the drivers have walked away with minor scratches. The TT seems to hold up very well. Also consider the added safety of having a car that handles better, accelerates better and brakes better which may keep her out of an accident altogether.

Relatively speaking, TTs are extremely safe vehicles.
