When I open my convertible I get a flashing idiot light that I think is trying to indicate the top is not completely open and stowed, but it is. No issues with the top operating, no light when the top is closed and locked. I cant find any information on a top position sensor or a micro switch for the top when it is open. Any ideas? 06 1.8 180hp.

Update- I believe my problem may be a Microswitch that indicated when the top is stowed. It is located behind the drivers shoulder in the top hinge mechanism. I can see the switch, but gaining access to replace it is a different story, since it is somewhat buried. Does anyone know of any documentation on how to access the microswitch and replace it?

I had this same issue and it's a quick fix. At the top of the windshield where the latch goes in on the drivers side there is a small piece that pushes back when the latch hits it to let the car know the top is closed. I just added a small piece of sticky felt (like the kind you put on the bottom of a chair leg) cut to size on the front of that piece. It gave it the "extra" little bit it needed to push it back enough to get the light to turn off.

I appreciate the feedback, but my issue is basically the opposite. The switch in the windshield header works fine. When the top is down the car doesn’t think it’s fully down and stowed, so I get the idiot light.
There is a micro switch in the soft top hinge area behind the drivers left shoulder. I’m trying to determine if that is the issue and how to replace it, as it is really buried in there.
Thanks again.
