Default 225QC takes on a Z

I am the proud owner of a 2001 225QC. For fun I test drove a Z today and I must say I was quite surprised, both positively and negatively.

First, the positives. The engine is a BEAST. It is very strong and puts out a lovely growl. The handling is spot on, although the turning radius is larger than the Audi's. Easy clutch and great gear box. Very short throws. The car feels bigger and stronger than the TT. By comparison, the Audi almost feels like a toy. If I didn't have to look at the dash, I would probably think that the Z was a much more expensive car than the AUdi.

Which brings us to the negatives. You don't know what you have until it's gone. In this case, every time I looked up at the small plastic guages on the Z, I missed the dash on the TT. The Tach was too small on the Z, and the speedometer was smaller still. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP

Horrible stereo.

Even though the Z is bigger than the TT, I had the feeling that the cabin was more compact, almost claustrophobic.

Had trouble finding a comfortable driving position.

Final verdict: Give me a TT with a stronger engine and I can have it all.

Enjoy,
Richard

I like the Z, but these are accurate comments.

Default agreed...but I was also a little let down by the Z engine

the one I drove did not feel all that quick. I was expecting more. I know it is faster than a stock 225 but I was disappointed. Agreed on the interior though - yuck!
