Default 235/45-17

Car has the 225/45-17's, want to know if I can put 235/45-17's on the original 17" rims. I have four Nokians in the 235 size, and one of the 225's has a slight bubble on side wall.
What will the effect be.
Thanks in advance.

It'll throw off aspect ratio, speedometer, odometer etc, since it has a higher sidewall...

a better choice would be 235/40-17...its overall diameter is closer to stock

Default this is what I have. looks good, rubs with tight turns in parking,

and large bumps in the road, particularly with the suspension loaded and turning in at the same time.

note, this is with stock ALMS / RS4 wheels, and 15F 20R spacers.

I may consider 225's next time, though the rubbing's not that often that it really bothers me.

Cheers,

Rich
