My TT is in the shop to get the tranny looked at. They said it may take a few days to get this evaluated.

Luckily I got a brand new Jetta as a loaner. Scott Keally no longer works at Miramar. Hope this is last problem I have with the TT for a while.

Default Insist they REPLACE the tranny and not just change the oil or

replace the syncros and related parts. My 00 GTI GLX had the same 02J tranny and there were over 50 posts of people who owned MKIV VW's with this same tranny who have had this problem as well. I own a TT today since VW repurchased my GTI GLX due to the 2nd gear grind problem (and many other problems). They tried changing the tranny fluid - didn't work, tried replacing the syncros - didn't fix the problem. Finally - they just bought back my car.

If I were you - INSIST they replace the tranny. There have been few reports of MY 01 year tranny grind problems in MKIV VW's.

Good luck, I hope they fix it. I'm seriously bummed about Scott. He was great.
