Just test drove a 3.2. Had some questions for current owners or anyone who has driven one.
When i was breaking, i noticed a high-pitched beep or humming sound. This would occur once the break pedal is fully depressed and car is almost at a complete stop. It was also raining but didn't sound like any break squeal I've ever heard. The sales guy didn't hear it and didn't have any explanation of what it could be. It sounded more electrical than a mechanicel sound. Anyone had the same experience?
On the front spoiler, are the 2 honeycomb grates supposed to be open? Looking at the Audi photos, I see some that show openings (i.e. holes) while other photos show the grate pattern with a flat back so there isn't any opening. On the car I drove, the driver's side had openings while the passsenger side had a back panel with 1 or 2 ramdom holes. It almost looked like someone "punched" the holes open. It looked pretty bad but I forgot to ask about it.
Is there any logical reason the ALMS wheels option package is $1000 more than the other 18" wheel package? I was told the tires are identical, jut the ALMS wheels are much cooler and more popular so they basically can chearge $1000 more.
Finally, was told 3-month lead time for ordering. Is this typical or a coservative estimate?
Thanks

Makes no sense that they even charge an extra $750 for 18 inch factory wheels, I don't think you can get 17's with the 3.2 either to avoid paying extra for the 18 inch wheels.....what a scam!!

I've heard a quick squeak at the end of braking, but always thought it was just the tires. I'll have to listen more carefully to see if it is otherwise.
The front honeycome grates are just that way. I think it's pretty silly too -- looks unintentional, like the designer/engineer forgot something and had to cover it up.
Dunno much about the wheels.
3-months seems conservative. I was told 8 weeks I were to order. Although...Mr. EighTT had a post about some mystery problem yesterday, and it's cause some delay in the release of the cars at port in San Diego. I dunno what this means, if anything for the production line.

It was most notable when parking my car in the garage with no stereo on. My wife and I would just look at each other and say "Did you hear that?" everytime we heard it. I think it's just a break-in oddity, 'cause I'm not noticing it anymore now that I'm over 300 miles.
The RS4 rims are worth every penny of that $1000k over. My mom saw the pics the other day and her first comment was "I love your rims!". I didn't even know she knew what rims were. I wouldn't recommend them if your daily drive involves pothole-dodging, though, because they're pretty soft.
