They use a special saw on a track and templet. No torch, no touch up paint needed. Ready to go when

you pick up the car...

BTW it IS 28" wide not 32" I measured last night and cTTkevin confirmed.

It's just like when you have the factory A4(or other sedan) has its roof ALL the way open. The

advantage they have with the power roof is that they can click it to a pre-determined setting(usually one or two inches before totally open) and it reduces buffeting and wind noise. The maunal top doesn't have this, which means the windows have to be at least open a little bit to help with the buffeting and noise.
