Default 48 Hours in my new TT and I have my first problem.

Well, I have read that the TT electrical system has much to be desired so I guess that this was invevitable. I start the car up comming home from work and the stupid ESP light won't turn off. I really hate to bring it back within 48 hours of getting my new car...any ideas what may cause this....
Oh yeah...what is the best way to clean the peddles (Dead, break,Gas, Clutch)..is this clear coated along with all the other nice metal inside the car?
I must now go out into the garage and stare at my car and keep wondering how lucky I am to have it!!! GRIN! :-)

Default I had the same problem after about 2K miles. ESP light came on, and wouldn't turn off.

The dealer said the Haldex unit was bad and replaced it.

Default make sure the button on the dash isn't depressed

it tunrns off the ESP and hence makes the light stay on...funny that.

enjoy and don't let the posts here make you paranoid, they are only a small minority of owners overall...most are trouble free.

Default Maybe its this...

Yeah, Im new to all this too, but do you have an "ESP" button on your dash? (by the hazarrd button). If this is depressed, the ESP light will remain on. Press it and see if it goes off.

Hope this helps.

Default and this fixed the problem?

I don't get it, what does the Haldex unit have to do with the ESP light not turning off?

Default Hmmm.

Yeah I pressed it in and out to see if that works. No dice. I don't have Quattro so I am not sure if your cure will apply to me...hmmm...time to get on the phone with the dealer and complain about my 2 day old car and tell him that only a nice TT sunshield will make me feel better about this problem while it is getting fixed (I am still waiting on the call from Audi to give them their 5's which I plan on doing anyways..He He He).

Default Considering it is part of the traction control system there is a great possiblity that it could have

been that.

Default Yep. I have no idea, but that is what they told me and it seemed to fix it.

At the time I had no idea what the Haldex was or did. (I do now after being on this forum.)

Haven't had any ESP problems since then. Knock on wood.

My ESP light wouldn't turn off too. Turned off car, restarted, light went out. Happened only once.
