Default 5K service in Boston - VAG programming question

I had my 5K service Saturday, and asked them if they could change the programming on the key responses so that both doors would unlock on one press, and the windows would open when the button is held down.

The service manager told me two things which I believe are total bullsh*t: one, he said that Audi rules do not ALLOW them to program the "open the windows" feature because it creates a safety hazard. And two, he said they could not program anything for me, because I didn't have my spare key with me, and if they did it on just my main key, the spare wouldn't work any more.

Now first of all, I can't imagine what possible safety issue is raised by opening the windows from the key - it doesn't even work unless you hold the button down for several seconds. And second, I am reasonably certain that you do not program the keys, you program the chip in the car, which RESPONDS to the signals from the keys.

Was this guy full of it, or what? And does anyone know of a place in the Boston area where I can get this programming done? I'd like these features to work, but I'm not prepared to pay a few hundred bucks for a VAG tool just for this.

FYI, this happened at IRA in Danvers, where I bought the car.

Thanks,
Bob

Default What else can this VAG be programmed to do?

Seems to me I saw a listing of the possibilities but I don't remember where. I'd love the doors to lock at a certain speed. Other possibilities?

Default crap

the keys don't have to do with the locking system coding. Just changed mine this sunday to autolock the doors at 15mph and unlock both, etc - Thanks Ellen for the code

how do you change it if the dealer won't do it... and you don't have the tool?

Default My dealer required both keys....

but did the programming for free. Tech said that Audi doesn't really approve of lock reprogramming, but he did it for me anyway. Can't see why they'd need both keys, but I didn't complain.
