Default It's different (more)

The gearbox of the 225 is not able to manage with the torque of the S4 engine, besides the position of the engine is different (transversal).
It is different but even better, don't worry.
On my 225 Roadster, the gear changes are stiffer shorter and more precise, more sporty in a word.
You really feel it.
It's the best gearbox I've ever had.

the maximum hp and torque these 2 trannies
can take? The chip-inclined want to know

Default Not entirely sure......

I may be able to find the info out for you, but since I'm no longer with Audi, it may take a little longer. I would be careful about putting a whole lot more power/torque through the 180FWD trans though. I think there have been enough concerns posted on this forum about this trans to warrant a little restraint.

Default The FWD and Quattro 180TT's have DIFFERENT trannies!

Nothing about them is the same except for the fact they are both 5 speeds and have an awesome looking shifter!
