Didn't they give you any idea where you were on the allocation list?
What car are you ordering?
Is there a huge list (wait) for that model?
Maybe the dealer cannot allocate/order that particular model/type.
It may be possible the dealer is correct.
Some dealers can only order specific models at specific allocation points (or during a specific allocation month)
Figure a 10-12 week wait for delivery once your allocation is open for ordering, and you get confirmation from the dealer that your order is in.
I filled an open allocation from my dealer in early April. Confirmed order acceptance on April 17, confirm build week 18. Car is on the boat, due into Port Houston June 23.
Could be 3 days or 2 weeks from then, 'till dealer sees it on their lot.
That's all my dealer knows today. They get Monday updates from Audi.

If you merely placed a deposit on a car, then you are probably just on an Excel spreadsheet at the dealer. This is the dealer queue of customers waiting to place an order with the factory. When the factory frees up an allotment for the dealership for the type of car you want, the dealer should contact you and ask you to confirm your choice of colors and options. then the dealer will place an order with the factory. It takes about 10-12 weeks to receive your car after it has been ordered from the factory.
If you simply placed a deposit, it could take weeks to months to a year before you will be able to place an actual order.
You really need to confirm all of this with your dealer.
Good Luck.

...to arrive. I was told week 28 (4 weeks away) at the start but I'm now slightly suspicious about who actually stated this to the dealer - was it a finger in the air by the importer? Everybody waiting for their car complains about this lack of communication - perhaps we should all sign a petition and send it to Audi!
225QR Silver/Black, All leather seats, Xenon, Bose, 6 CD changer, cruise control, cup holders (WEEK 28, Agggghhh!)

so I can have the best chance at getting one by summer. If they cannot give you an allocation ask them where you are on the list and keep calling.

I have phoned a number of dealers in southern CA. It seems the 'ship comes in' in about two weeks time.
FYI:
Rusnak, Thousand oaks, want 4,000 over sticker
Ogner, Ventura, want 4,200 over
Both have available 225's in 'two to four weeks'.
WhiddeTT, waiting for 225QR (I hope on the same boat)

Put my deposit down April 8th of this year on 225 coupe. Called my dealer last friday to find out I am currently #11 on their 225coupe list. I asked about how many they get allocated per month based on the past few months, and through which month their allocations had been ordered. I was able to figure mine will be a nov/dec build for arrival in late jan/feb. Of course things like an August shut down of the TT plant (unlikely due to demand) or extra allocations to the dealer could lengthen or shorten the wait. In any case, if all you are looking for is a rough estimate, try to find some of this basic info from your dealer. If they can't even do THAT, perhaps look for a better dealer . ..you are early in the game as it is and finding a knowledgeable dealer seems to cause a lot less heartache.

I find this to be a bit long. My salesman told me about a 3-4 month wait from date of deposit. I put my deposit down on May 1st, and am currently in C status. A buddy of mine did the same, about 3 weeks earlier (April 7th or so), and is already scheduled for production, and expects the car in late July.

I have delt with them and was close to closing the deal until Advantage in Loma Linda called and said that I can have one that is on the boat. I backed out of the allocation for July build so you may be able to get in on that one. By the way the manager and sales associate quoted me MSRP.
