My 3.2 was recalled to replace the twin clutch. I made an appt 2 weeks before taking it in so they could order the kit. When the kit arrived, I dropped the car off.
16 days later, this 9.5 hour, one day loaner car (per AoA service bulletin) recall work was finally done. It seems a lot of the twin clutch replacement kits had a bad transmission seal, so they had to order another one, along with some other delays at the dealer. Another thing is they have to just about disassemble the whole powertrain to replace the clutch.
I guess it was a good thing to get the replacement clutch put in. Per the service writer, if the welds on the defective clutch had failed, it would freeze the drivetrain and could flip the car. BTW, the service writer said the repair with parts & labor runs about $1,500.
I feel a road trip coming to get re-acquainted with the car. I hope AoA is not too p*ss*d about the rental car bill.
I must say AoA was nice through the whole process and the dealer was appreciative of my patience.
Maybe the 9.5 hours is on planet Jupiter time.

They went through 2 kits on my repair. First one was damaged in shipping AND had the defective part, then the replacement for the defective part was deemed bad. The dealership was very professional and kept me updated, but man, did I miss my ride after 3 weeks in a sedan. The only problem was that the shifter was a bit "off position" after the fix; everything seems to be slightly misaligned relative to the cover plate. I'm having that looked at on the 15K service later this week.
Glad you got your car back.
