I didn't see the rear of the Jaguar but for a brief second (when he flew by me on the highway in traffic).
At an intersection prior to the onramp, I proceeded to do a relatively fast start in my Volvo. After I was going 40 or so I noticed a Jag convertible approaching in the right lane that was about to end. I started to accelerate my acceleration (well, you know what I mean) and I could see the Jag thinking twice about trying to get in front.
On the highway I think I saw a 12 in the badge. I'm not saying that my V70R took the Jag, but it was fun to surprise him. I wasn't expecting to race, nor was I really racing. I just didn't want him to pass me in a dangerous manner (cut over at right when the lane was to end). He was wise and gave up. I think he was expecting to casually pass me and move over, but I sped up faster than he was expecting. That's the fun of driving a fast brick. ;-)

they think they've raced you when they pass you under any condition, whether you were turning, slowing down to get off the freeway, etc. I've ran with two, both were trying and knew it was a 'race', both lost. They stayed close up to around 55 or so and that was that. Pulled away and they woudln't even close once I slowed down. They are not fast cars unless you throw a supercharger on.

I liked "accelerate my acceleration ". That's well put. Do remember the technical name for "rate of change of acceleration"? It's "jerk", not as in stupid jerk, but as in neck snapping.
Fast bricks are red.

Venetian Red really is the color of brick. Slap that on a square station wagon and you have a BRICK! ;-)
The 'R' has a massive turbo, but I didn't do a WOT acceleration. I honestly didn't expect I'd need it. I kept putting the pedal down more and more and the Jag kept accelerating faster and faster. Eventually he just ran out of road, but I'm convinced that if he knew that it was an 'R' he would have smoked me easily. ;-) Like I said, I think it was a 12cyl.

My reply to that post was that not everybody races. In fact, probably few with higher performance cars actually do.
