As I mentioned to Larry they waxed my MG hood right away. I was shocked when I saw them doing that as I pulled up. I asked them about it and they said there was no problem at all and continued to wax away.

receipt they had me sign when I dropped it off a statement that read something like...
"Due to a change in New Jersey state law we cannot was the exterior of your car. We will, however, be happy to vacuum the interior before returning the car to you."
I'm not sure if this law is drought-related or not.

years ago it was very rare for a body shop to have a paint booth with an oven. That is why everyone was told not to wax for a number of months.
The new cars are all baked in ovens as the body shop paint jobs are done. So you can wait or not, makes no difference. Most body shops wax the cars before delivering the cars back to the customer anyway.
