Default AGGGGG apearance of warm weather rattles....

All through winter I only had one rattle, the lower shelf under the glovebox, which seems to have been fixed by tightening the screws....

now that the weather is getting warmer (50s) the entire dash has started a chorus! Most of it seems to be comming from the center stack, and some around the steering wheel/instrument cluster area. There is one in the back either around the hatch glass or the side 1/4 windows.

Anyone have tips to fix these??? I don't mind the occasional squeak the one back in the hatch gives me.... but this new dash noise.. ARGGGGGG its like listening to someone grind their teeth

Default Jam some paper in between the cluster and where it meets the lower

dash. They seem to squeak there.

If it works, try black felt tape.

Oh, only in the 50s, not warm enough for every piece of trim above and behind to start creaking.

Default Any idea where to get "black felt tape"? I've been using friction tape, but I think felt would work

better.

Default Also, drive with your hand on

or supporting (in upwards fashion) the ashtray assembly. That entire unit is held up with one torx screw. It rattles like crazy near the top. Take it out & apply more felt tape.

The Home Depot might have it. Auto Parts stores?

Default I've been looking around, just thought you might know of a place that would have it.

Since you suggested it, I thought you might know where to get it. I got the friction tape from Sears Hardware. I've looked around Home Depot and Lowes. I did find small felt sticky strips, around the area you find the felt dots and drawer liners, but it only came in brown. I'm not doing that! :-)

I just picked up some felt window insulation to try, but it's not very sticky or shapeable.
