Default Cover the noise with increased Bose volume.

Turn up the volume on your Bose system...

Default where to apply the felt on the ashtray?

sandwich between that thin strip where torx goes through?

anywhere else?

I took the actual grey ashtray part out hoping the reduced weight would help... but I'm not 100% sure thats where its comming from yet.

My air vents make noise too lol!! I have to periodically push them into the dash, it seems they work their way loose

It comes from the very top of the unit where it touches the inner dash.

Default Exactly! I must have gone through three or four sheets myself...

Hobby Lobby, Michaels, any crafts store should carry 8.5x11 sheets of self-adhesive felt.

Another place I had problems - I drive with the steering wheel tilted all the way up, so I had to apply felt between the top of the steering column and the faux leather piece that flexes as you tilt the wheel, as it was rubbing and squeaking against the steering column as I drove...

Default Yeah, trim generally squeaks when cold, rattles when warm...

Around 45°F seems to be the sweet spot; colder and things tighten up and squeak, warmer and they expand and rattle.

The wonders of German plastic...

The one around the dash may be the result of a bad clockspring. Brought mine to the dealer for a high pitched plastic on plastic like noise like a a scratching on a CD. Replaced clockspring = no more noise.
