Configuration:
2000 180QC, H&R Coil-over kit (original rear spring package), Tires: 225/45-17, 36psi - front and 33psi - rear, ½ tank of fuel, Mk I control arms and anti-sway bars.
Winter Ride height:
Rear adjusters set @ 1.1" from receiver...this is the highest point possible where ALL threads on adjuster are ENGAGED on receiver.
Front adjusters were raised to a distance of 2.2" from beginning of threads to bottom of adjuster locker (note how many more turns required to match rear height).
This adjustment in relation to rear brought the car to a dead-flat attitude (no wedge) as measured with spirit level on bottom pan of car. Distance from ground to fender arches are 26" for both front and rear (stock is 27" rear and 26.5" front, summer setting is 25" front & rear)
Front:
Camber: -1.31* and -1.24*
Toe: 0* and 0*
Rear: (No adjustment available...outcome only)
Camber: -1.20* and -1.28*
Toe: .11* and .00*
Summer Ride height:
Rear adjusters set @ .8" from receiver.
Front adjusters were raised to a distance of 1.5" from beginning of threads to bottom of adjuster locker
which produced an approximate 3/8" nose down wedge
Front:
Camber: -1.1* and -1.2*
Castor: 7* and 7* (a happy decrease of nearly 1*) No adjustment available...outcome only
Toe: 0* and 0*
Rear: (No adjustment available...outcome only)
Camber: -2.1* and -1.6*
Toe: .14* and .13*
Summary:
HR Coil-overs @ lowest setting (summer) drop ride height 2" and 1"at highest setting (winter). Ride comfort has improved and is closer to stock at `winter' setting while cornering ability has diminished due to higher center of gravity. Overall handling at winter setting is still far superior to stock and is making for an interesting compromise albeit a practical adjustment with coming weather.
