For those of you who haven't fiqured it out already......I just walked the last mile home after leaving my TT (with week old SO3s and fresh alignment) at side of road. Only 2+/- incles of snow made virtually any grade impassable. In my defense, I learned to drive in New Hampshire winters. While the SO3s are great summer tires -- they are truly dangerous on snow.
My town refuses to ever salt. So while I had no problem motoring around in the adjoining 3 towns on the way home, I was pretty much sideways much of the time in Summit.
I guess I find out how my ragtop likes a foot of snow and ice. Ugh!

Finally got the car home. After the first plows went rhough, I walked back out with shovels, salt and sand. The drive home was interesting...white knuckles at 5 mpg. Can't imagine anything as slippery. Unfortunately half of my Blizzaks are unmounted waitng for new wheels. Going for a hot shower! I am going to stay home playing Bob Marley unitl all the snow melts.

They are strictly a summer tire - or if you are fortunate to live in a non-freeze climate, a great all-year tire. They have great wet and dry properties in reasonable temps, ie, >40F

You guys PUSH winter tires, but I am veteran of snow and have never had a problem, you just have to know what you are doing and be careful. Just my opinion, but I won't waste money on something I don't need.
