Ok, here is the real deal and it's not the same real deal I used to espouse...
My dealer did this at my request. The caveat was that IF the central locking system loses power completely due to a battery disconnect or dead battery the system will not reset back to "pinch protect on." This is a liability issue for AoA. Whether invented or real, it's up to their lawyers to decide.
However, I am in a prime position to test this since my car was unhooked from it's battery for days while they repaired it. All of my pre-accident custome features are still there including "door lock at 15mph" and "window down with remote"
I am going outside right now with my keys and a paper towel roll to test pinch protection. BRB.
