Default I feel validated now.

That was my original intentions that somehow got lost when dealing with the marketing and accounting departments. ;-)

Default How close do the replacement poly bushings for the MKIIs come to duplicating the MKI arms???

...and how long do they last? If the polys do a good job already, why bother fabricating something else? ....just thought the question should be asked. Obviously, having more metal would more closely duplicate the MKI's, but aren't the new polys for the MKII's already much stiffer than the smaller rubber bushings in the MKI's?

I don't know that anyone has had both to compare head-to-head...

Default And a bunch of things will determine the difference in feel...>

Alignment, sway bar choice, tires, wheel size etc. A direct comparison might be tough. If Han's comes down in the next few weeks we may be able to compare his car to mine as the set-ups are somewhat similar...I think he has the polys on his list for the next shack visit...

Default I've owned both - first TT was MKI second MKII - i've driven both stock AND modified with similar

mods. First TTq was a 180hp non ESP, MKI car with no spoiler. Second is my current 03 MKII 225.

First TT received 18's and KW VII's, current has 19's KW VIII's, lower tie bar (which the first one came with) and the poly bushings in the front on MKII arms.

I'd say it's close with the win going to the MKI's. In terms of NVH - since the current car has 19's and had them prior to putting on the poly bushings in the MKII arms - I can't say which contributes to harsher ride. My MKI TT had slightly better ride quality - but I think it's more attributable to the 18's than the poly bushings.

IMO - the poly's are close enough not to worry about finding MKI's.

Default CPP was prototyping LCA's for the R32 similar to their rear control arms....

not sure what ever came of them - but I held one of the prototypes in my hands. Would be too much IMO for the street - with spherical bearings and such.
