Is this at all true? If it is I will try it at the track next time.

ya i no they made 479 but heres the thing they were using ice water and they dynoed it at sea level using a dyno jet.
the ice water might of been worth around 25-30hp. being at sea level maybe worth another 25hp. being a dyno jet im sure that alone was worth another 45-60hp. i think the kit can make a honest 375whp i hope im wrong i would love to use the kit i have but getting pulleys and a belt is another story.

Yes it is true. A very common practice actually . . .
at Bonneville. Gale Banks has been experimenting using ice, water and or dry ice for a long time with great results. I believe he settled on dry ice and was getting huge gains in hp/torque. Read about it a while ago.
He had a specially designed tank to hold what he was using to cool the intercoolers. This is not a matter of just pouring water or ice onto the engine. There is quite a bit more to it than that.
Ask SmallTT's about this. You will find him in the Performance Forum more than here now.
If someone wanted to cheat a dyno run, they could put blocks of ice in front of the intercooler(s) and have the dyno fans blow across the ice, which will lower the ambient air temp and not let the car go into heat soak as fast while running on a dyno.
If you wanted to play around with IC cooling on the track, look into getting dry ice and placing it before the IC's on your car. Just keep in mind dry ice is VERY dangerous and can't be handled wiht bare hands. I don't know how long it will last for you though. I recall Gale Banks going through pounds and pounds of the stuff for each run.
Just something to try if you wanted to.

Yes, very true.. and you CAN count on it..
Drag racers have setups where they actually have the IC inside a box that is filled with water and ice.. Its the closest thing to 100% efficiency.. If you couldn't count on it then why do racers do it at the drag strip? Or maybe its just a decoy.. ??

Talking to yourself again?
lol.. Not worth it?? Of course its a complete waste of time to try and make your ICs a little more efficient.. oh wait, thats right.. how much trouble did you go through to watch the temps of your ICs? You probably should have left it stock so higher temps wouldn't be experienced.. .. Im only playin.. So why don't you think it wouldn't work for the TT? because Powa doesn't got radical mods and b.c its not makin awesome powa? Well, youve done the tests for you car.. how badly did a little hard driving affect the ICs temps? It dropped efficiency from 93% to what 84% Well, if your at the track, and your worried about 2/10ths a second anything that will help your car get to the other end faster is worth it.. If your running at the track a couple bags of ice will certainly be cheaper and easier, along with more efficient then hooking up misters, fans, and whatever else that mod shack is cooking up.. But to each his own..
