i was headed up to north jersey this a.m. for an interview.
on 287 north this very trick red TT approached from behind.
i swear the lights were as bright as a locomotive engines headlight! it was quite light out also - 8 a.m.-ish.
did this person have something special or are new TT headlights extra bright.

my Xenon's on my S4 are not nearly as bright.
i mean this was a "retina burning" bright...not that diffuse (but very bright) you see on the Benz's and Acura's....
Kudos to you folks then.

It's a long story, but last year about this time I briefly traded my TT in on an S4, and then bought my TT back.
One of the major things I noticed, as I do most of my driving at night, is that the TT's Xenons do a much better job of lighting the road and road signs than do the S4's.
The prevailing wisdom is that the shape of the A4/S4 headlight lens masks the Xenon beam to the rectangular shape of the lens, where the TT's headlight lenses allow the beams to spread to their full beamwidth.
So, it's not that they're brighter per se, but rather that you're seeing them at full power. ;-)
