From tirerack, the S-03 scored higher in every catigory. Of course the RE730 has a cooler tread pattern ;-). I am just wondering how good is good? I run Bridgestone S-02 on the NSX and they handle real well, once I warm them up. On average the tires on that car get replaced about every 7,000 miles, maybe a little longer. Of course it is a totally diffrent car, but I hate to think that I will have to drop ANOTHER $800 every year or so, for the TT. Anyone drive on the S-03's? I know the 730's are real good tires from what i read around here. Tirerack raves about the S-03's, and they are usually very good about reviews. Just getting some ideas for spring time. By the way, these are going on 18" or 19" Moda's (most likly 18's).

Take the price of the tire and index it off the treadwear value. This will create a value useful in comparing the two tire's monetary cost.
If all tires had the same performance, I'd be willing to spend some serious dough on a 80,000-mile performance tire. If such a tire existed and cost $300 each. That would mean I'd spend $1,200 over 80,000 miles. If I was to get a cheaper option for $150 each, but they were going to wear out in 20,000 miles, I'd be an idiot. I'd end up replacing my $150 tires four times costing me twice as much as the $300 tires.
This does apply to the S-03 vs. RE730 comparison, but you need to factor in other things like the items that snif snif mentioned in a post below.
