Default am radio reception in coupe...is MUCH improved after grounding...

the haldex unit...see previous post by larryTT with pictures...quite an improvement...next step in better am (and fm) reception is to get a better antenna (e.g., a combination am/fm/cell antenna that replaces the current cell antenna on top of the coupe -- and replaces the lousy antenna wiring to the head unit!).

Default Glad to hear the improvement!

One thing I have forgot mentioned previous post, have you check your radio grounding level? I have checked the radio unit grounding, I am not sure this would help for the better am reception, however the level of grounding was so different from car to car(we checked several TT's). Mine was not completely grounded, so they made a independent earth cable from the radio head set.
It might be improving the antenna quality....

Default You are quite welcome. :) No rush on when you do the antennae . . .

I don't plan on doing anything until I get a job! lol

Default You mean you ran a wire from . . .

from the screw securing the headunit in the car to a ground in the car? Hmmm . . . I will give that a shot as well. Should be easy enough to do.

Thanks for that tip.
