Amplifier in the BOSE system?

All,
does anyone know where the amplifier in the BOSE system goes? My TT has come with the 6cd autochanger and I'm going to swap it out for an empeg , but I need to add an aftermarket 4 channel amplifier.
I'd like to add it in a out-of-sight location, hopefully in the same place that the bose amplifier is put.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Paul.<ul><li><a href="http://Empeg">http://www.empeg.com</a></li></ul>

You should get in touch with the empeg folks directly - at one point they were talking about a head unit that would work with the stock Bose system.
I've built a system of my own (not for the TT for a variety of reasons, but I'll probably put together a new unit this Summer) and have helped a few college students put together units. (getting something past the toy stage is non-trivial) The Empeg unit is probably the best of the currently available commercial units. Their mk2 should be a major improvement, but the major players *all* have players under development (There are a half dozen units out now or in the next few months that will play mp3 files on CD-Rs). By the first of the year there will be a revolution in aftermarket car stereos judging from some prototypes I've seen.
What appeals to me at the moment are the CD-R mp3 players. File management on the hard disk based players is somewhat difficult to manage at the present compared to writing a CD-R with 10 hours of mp3 files. If you have a large hard disk the user interface issues begin to dominate as no one has a well thought-out interface at this point.
It is certainly fun though ...
