Any bet this will be the next TT?
These are my thoughts:
- the front end will be the same as the Nuvolari, except for the LED headlights.
- the dimensions will be generally the same as the Nuvolari. There are spyshots confirming that the next-gen TT will have a wider stance. Not sure about the wheel-base, though.
- If you look at the general shape of the Nuvolari, it looks like a natural evolution of the TT design. Timeless as the current TT design may be, Audi has to maintain the mantra of "Never Follow". I think the rear pillars will have to be somewhat sturdier.
- The interior: I'm not sure if there will be any tweaking. But the key designers of the original TT have all left, so it wouldn't surprise me that the next designer will try to leave a mark. Walter de'Silva designed the Nuvolari. Is still around? Again, as beautiful as the current interior is, I think Audi will need to push the envelope and introduce and new and fresh interior concept (so that others can copy it )
I think that if they follow the design cues of the Nuvolari, and decide to incorporate a powerplant that is at par with the upcoming Boxster, then they will hit a grand slam, very much the way they did with the original design.
