Default Any (non-valentine) Radar Detector Suggestions? Not sure that my charm will always save me. :-)

As posted below, I was pulled over this past weekend but didn't get a ticket. So maybe I should look into a radar detector but I don't think I need to spend the money on a Valentine that I have seen mentioned here. Any suggestions?

Nope . . . only clear choice is the V1!

Default Agree with Larry. You can "save" $100 bucks on some other detector... and quickly...

make up that "savings" when you get a ticket. You picked the best car; you therefore must have very good taste. You should get the finest radar warning device too!

Of course, common sense does, and always should prevail when driving fast, even with a V1.

Default V1 endorsed

i've been lurking on this forum in anticipation of receiving my BB TTC in January, but i've been running a V1 for about 6 months now, up and down I25 between Denver and Fort Collins. It's a 60 mile commute for me and I like to get home sooner on some days. The V1 has saved me at least 3 tix so far, so I figure it's paid for itself. On a long dark, straight road like north 25, it sure has kept me aware of my surroundings, and thus out of trouble.

Default If you are going to spend $300, might as well spend the extra $99 and get the V1. It's the only one

worth spending your money on IMO.

Default I have used the Passport 7500 for over a year, and....

according to the posts here and elsewhere, where people have been stopped and ticketed even *with* the V1, I'm quite positive in believing that the model of detector, at this price-point/quality level, did not make a difference.
The Passport/Escort series have saved my butt many times, over many years. (I've used many models)
Check out also the new 8500

Here's my install tips also.<ul><li><a href="http://people.mn.mediaone.net/jbipes/newttr/mods.html">Passport 7500 install</a></li></ul>

Default Uniden...

Do a search for Uniden - seems like there was a review on a Uniden detector a while back. $150 cheaper than the Valentine. V1 is the best, but this one came in second - if money is a primary concern, you might take a look at this one.

Default Perfectly happy with Passport Escort 7500 - NO TICKETS 20K miles 80mph+

Ask the folks recommending the V-1s if they are ticket -free?

The directional display on the V1 is probably a nice feature...IMO not essential.

The automatic feature-set on the Escort 7500 is terrific.

Is an upgrade available from 7500---->8500?
