Any online shops that do port and polishing of stock manifolds to get a little more flow going?

Default Any online shops that do port and polishing of stock manifolds to get a little more flow going?

Would assume it would be somewhat similar to those with aftermarket manifold- since gains have been minimal but anything to smooth out and increase flow could be beneficial. Just want to get ideas and ducks in a row if I do decide to go the K04 route this fall, want to squeeze anything I can out of the car for minimal dollars for minimal gains.

Default There was a recent comparison on multiple types of manifolds>>>

including OEM and ported Tom...Overall there is a gain, but if you are seriously thinking K04, your intake needs to go anyway (unless you are doing something really custom)....and the porting thing is NOT cheap...

Extrude Hone does them for like 500$ if you are outside a GB....

http://www.extrudehone.com/</a

Default The K04-01 should allow me to keep using 180 mods, what would be recommended for the K04?

I have to keep the plumming in the current locations, so manifold orientation is critical

Default Supreme Power Parts did my exhaust P&P >

but you ought to be able to find a shop in your area. Btw, I have a spare exhaust manifold if you're interested - you can get it done, then swap it out; alternatively, ATP sells a large exhaust mani for 180's (& also 225's) that's tempting.

Default do you know if it will mate up to the K04-01?

I might be interested in the manifold, what are you asking? The ATP option is for the 180 Quattro right? Will it bolt right up to a K04-01 and the rest of the internals? What are we thinking preformance gains would be?

How much did the port and polish cost for the exhaust manifold?

Default Both will mate to the 01 >

The 01 is a 'drop-in' upgrade. You're probably better off buying the large ATP, all things considered - looks pretty sweet; seems like I paid around 300 for the P&P, but that's why you should check w/a local machine shop - just a couple hours work.
Anyway, get that, the 01, a downpipe and a lightweight crank pulley, and you'll get good kick.

Default recommendations of the lightweight crank pully? and a link to the manifold?

Thoughts on the intake manifold- or not needed?

Default intake mani is very good bang - see that vortex writeup >

the 007 small-port for $700 was a great unit/value.
