Any online shops that do port and polishing of stock manifolds to get a little more flow going?

Default look - research this, cause I don't want to steer you down the wrong path, but >

Techtonics Tuning makes the DP and race cat I have, and it bolted right up to my KO3 sport, and likewise to my KO4-01; it's 2-1/2" and was $400 (looks similar to the 42DD, with the diff being the configuration for the location of the exhaust on the turbo); I think ATP has one too; I suspect it'll work on your 180, but check the cat/exhaust config connections. The DP and the miltek added about 15hp at high rpm's (5500), 8-10 hp at 3500-4500.

Default the FWD and 225 Quattro is different Down Pipe wise from the 180 Quattro

That is where things change up. The 180 has a split pipe, and the path is totally different from the FWD. Custom is pretty much the only option available right now, until someone copies their custom pipe, or 42DD comes out with theirs.

the 180 has the same turbo layout as the FWD, even though it has split pipes; but since the 225 can easily replace the split pipes with the 42DD, my guess is that the 180Q can do the same with the FWD DP. IMO, worth some time to investigate, anyway.

Default My understanding is that with the path the FWD takes off from the turbo to the cats

is different due to the added pieces for the Quattro system on the 180 Quattro. I would be interested in trying to figure that out, I just would have thought others would have gone with an aftermarket DP rather then fab one of their own. You are right though, you never know forsure unless I check it out

Default Do you have an EKTA or a Bentley? >

I'll do some looking later on tonight & let you know whether it still seems feasible.

Default ok, I looked it up on EKTA >

you want to see illustration 253-60 (and the rest of the list at the bottom - sorry, but I don't have PS print capability here - perhaps somone who does will chime in with a pic, or I'll scan and send tomorrow); bottom line is, if the 42DD downpipe works from the turbo back, *past the cats* (replacing the dual cats and cat pipes) to the exhaust, then the DP from Techtonics (or somewhere) will almost certainly work on the 180Q, since the exhaust manifold and the turbo are identical to the FWD. I can't be positive, but it looks like the forward O2 sensor is slightly closer to the cats. It truly does appear that it bolts right in, with maybe some adjustment to the sensor harness.

Pics: 145-50; 253-20; 253-55; 253-60; 253-80 & 253-85.

Default Yep, got it, man those are EKTA things are hard to follow sometimes.

What model were these scans for- 180 FWD and Quattro, or 180 general and 225?
