Any problems using fuel injector cleaner?

For decades I have always added a bottle of carb cleaner to a full gas tank at every oil change for preventive maintenance. I assume it works because I have never had a fuel system problem. I just get the cheapest brand available at the time since I was told they are all the same. I do not use the heavy duty stuff that costs $10+ a bottle because they appear to be intended for cars that are having problems. However, after 7 TT oil changes I have noticed that on three of those seven I got a CEL about 1500 miles after I use the additive. So far it has always been a different sensor that has gone bad. Does the additive accelerate sensor wear? I talked with an ex-Audi mechanic who said that the problem is that our engine sensors have such tight tolerances that frequent CELs are just normal.
